Timeline of my Fulbright Process

April 11, 2012 - Attended a Fulbright Information Workshop on my campus

April 20-something, 2012 - Met with the on-campus Fulbright adviser to talk about the application process and why I wanted to apply

June, 2012 - Read through grant proposals and personal statements of winning Fulbright applicants with my adviser.
                  - Identified professors I wanted to ask to write recommendations for me and contact them

                  - Began writing!

July, August, September, 2012 - Wrote drafts, deleted drafts, rewrote, rewrote, rewrote! Met with my adviser weekly. Cried a little. Grew a lot.

                  - Sent the ETA recommendation form to my references in August

                  - Reached out to a couple of professors to do my language evaluation


September 12, 2012 - Application due to San Francisco State University, including: grant proposal, personal statement, online application, language evaluation, and references.

October 8, 2012 - Interview with San Francisco State committee

October 15, 2012 - Application due to Fulbright

January 18, 2013 - Received an email from the Institute of International Education that they recommended me for a grant and sent my application to the supervising agency abroad for final review.

February 15, 2013 - Received an email from COMEXUS inviting me to an interview via Skype

March 7, 2013 - Interview with COMEXUS

April 3, 2013 - Almost an entire year after the very first informational meeting, I was offered the Fulbright grant! The offer came in an email with a letter to follow.

June 24, 2013 - Received my assignment to La Escuela Normal Superior de Querétaro!

August 19, 2013 - Arrive in Mexico DF for orientation. It's all happening!
